Today, I ‘m very happy to announce the Beta release for Cycleops. It’s now available at cloud.cycleops.io, as an online Cloud Management Platform for all people developing and operating Software on the Cloud.
At Stackmasters, we have been working for quite a while now, on preparing Cycleops to become the go-to online platform for simpler Cloud Management. Designed to make things easier for everyone, using the Cloud for their software applications’ lifecycle management.
What’s in Cycleops Beta?
You will be pleased to find that this very first Beta release carries all you need to start organizing and automating your cloud environments and workflows. Here are some of the features you can try out for free:
Organize Cloud resources
Creating environments – define your own sets of cloud instances, to distinguish the usage based on your organizations or team’s criteria. It may be a classic “Dev – Test – Production” categorization. Conversely, it may be an approach based on different product lines and development teams within your company. Either way, Cycleops environments provide the basic element, to organize hosts in isolated sets for your available cloud resources.
Standardize and Automate workflows
Creating Stacks – design Stack Templates based upon the built-in Units Catalog; and easily deploy those templates across your different environments. That is, utilizing the underlying power of the Ansible automation engine, as offered by Cycleops platform. To that end, the Units Catalog is weekly populated with Ansible roles for the support of popular open-source software; used as components in the platform Stack of most software applications. Therefore, you can combine and configure Stack Templates out of the Units Catalog; as well as easily select target hosts and environments for their automatic deployment.
Built-in Monitoring
Monitoring Environments – gain operational visibility for your Cloud infrastructure and your applications’ operational status with integrated support for monitoring health and performance metrics. Cycleops builds and configures a dedicated monitoring setup for every environment created in the platform. The set of hosts contained in the environment are monitored. Additionally, platform services that take part in the Stacks deployed in the environment are monitored automatically. Moreover, you gain access to Grafana dashboards and alerts tailored for your specific needs, out of the box. That is, by simply using Cycleops as your CMP.
Support for Teams
Manage Users and User Groups – add your team members as users in the Cycleops platform; organize those users into User Groups. We have a detailed role-based access control in place. It enables you to assign permissions and define broader policies; for the different actions that are available through the Cycleops CMP, that is. In short, you can set and apply your organization’s wide security policies for user access control; and, hence, let your teams operate at a higher level of self-service, for your Cloud environments.
How Cycleops can help
The Cycleops Cloud Management platform can greatly help small and medium sized companies that want to manage their Cloud Environments and apply DevOps practices; without writing complex infrastructure code.
Cycleops leverages a noise-free environment, enabling organizations to focus on their product and business development. Thus, reducing their time to market, instead of spending valuable time in complex setups and configuration activities.
We’re offering Cycleops using a Software as a Service (SaaS) model. And it will come with flexible pricing. Thus, even small startups will be able to afford it.
